God's Promise

91 I live in the shelter of ‘Elyon,
I spend my nights in the shadow of Shaddai,
I say to Adonai, “My refuge! My fortress!
My God, in whom I trust!” —
You rescue me from the trap of the hunter
and from the plague of calamities;
You cover me with Your pinions,
and under Your wings I find refuge;
Your truth is a shield and protection.
I do not fear the terrors of night
or the arrow that flies by day,
or the plague that roams in the dark,
or the scourge that wreaks havoc at noon.
A thousand may fall at my side,
ten thousand at my right hand;
but it won’t come near me.
I only keep my eyes open
and see how the wicked are punished.
For I have made Adonai, the Most High,
who is my refuge, my dwelling-place.
10 No disaster will happen to me,
no calamity will come near my tent;
11 for You order Your angels to care for me
and guard me wherever I go.
12 They carry me in their hands,
so that I won’t trip on a stone.
13 I tread down lions and snakes,
young lions and serpents I trample underfoot.
(Jesus speaking)
14 “Because you love me, I rescue you;
because you know my name, I protect you.
15 You call on me, I answer you.
I am with you in trouble.
I extricate you and bring you honor.
16 I satisfy you with long life and show you My Salvation.”
