Quotes and Notes for 12/29/13

“You have to have faith to do works.”
“Your faith requires everything.”
“We are salt to the Lord”
“We confuse our anger with disappointment.”
“Forgiveness is the currency of the Kingdom of God.”
“Relationship is everything:  with God and others.”
“Bondage occurs at the Spiritual level.”
“It is natural for us to trust God.  It is people and their actions that cause us to doubt God.”
“Envy should be the first clue you are on the wrong path.”

Our whole life is made up of relationships with parents, siblings, co-workers, classmates, friends, church brothers and sisters, etc….

Two serious things can happen in relationships:  We can hurt / offend others, and others can hurt / offend us.

The longer we wait to forgive others that hurt us and the longer we wait to go to others and ask for forgiveness when we hurt them;  the more the devil will given opportunities to develop vain imaginations in our thinking that will lead to division in relationships.

Be quick to forgive others and ask for forgiveness.  This spirit and attitude will lead to unity and build closer relationships in all areas of relationship in our lives.

Notes and quotes:

"I could lift myself up, but I did not have the strength to keep me up there."

"Quite telling me what you know, and let me tell you what you do not know."

We judge others by their actions, but we judge ourselves by our intentions.

"Misery is optional!
  Pride equals misery.
  Humble equals happiness!"

Good job Curtiss!!

Mens' Meeting Report

Mens' meeting has been very good.  Be sure and try to be there, and read Brother Dave's blog also.
Proverbs 16:3

Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established.

"What a wonderful promise.  When we committ to Him all we are going to do, He will cause us to think right."
-- Campbell McAlpine

Psalms 37:

Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

Notes and quotes for 7.21.13

"Is what you are doing emphasizing Jesus in you, or is what you are doing emphasizing you?"

God does not ask us to build the kingdom; He has already built it.
We are to be about His kingdom business on earth.

"God works from the grassroots up; whereas, man works from the top down."

17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. 18 And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.

Notes and Quotes

"The lubricating oil of love keeps the church from freezing up."

"Obviously, if we love God, we should love what He loves and hate what He hates."
"Obedience to Truth will lead you wherever you go."
-Campbell McAlpine

Living in the Light

Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.

Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us[a] and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people.

Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.

You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him.

Don’t participate in the things these people do.

For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!

For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.

10 Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.

11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.

12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret.

13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them,

14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said,
“Awake, O sleeper,
    rise up from the dead,
    and Christ will give you light.”

Notes and Quotes

We are born again to be; whereas, We are anointed to act.

Grace is to the Kingdom of God  as what Liberty is to the United States.
The are the foundational principals respective to each.

Leadership:  When others seeing you following the Lord desire to follow you.

You have to be the light for your shadow to be cast.

Worry is not believing God will get it right;  Bitterness is believing God got it wrong.

Psalm 57:7-11

The Hope of the Faithful, and the Messiah’s Victory

A Michtam of David.

Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.
O my soul, you have said to the Lord,
“You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.”
As for the saints who are on the earth,
“They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”

Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god;
Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer,
Nor take up their names on my lips.

O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup;
You maintain my lot.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Yes, I have a good inheritance.

I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel;
My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.
I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope.
10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
11 You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
